Members Approve 14% Dividend Amidst Strong Financial Performance Mangaluru, September 20, 2026: The 36th Annual General Meeting of Pragathi Co-operative Society Ltd., Kulshekar, Mangaluru, was held successfully at Cordel Hall, Kulshekar, under the chairmanship of Society President Mr. Jossy Sequeira. The meeting began with a prayer and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a tribute to members of the Society who passed away during the previous year. The President welcomed the gathering and addressed the members. The minutes of the 2024–25 Annual General Meeting and the Annual Administrative Report for 2025–26 were presented and approved. The audited financial statements, including the receipts and expenditure account, profit and loss account, and balance sheet for 2025–26, were also placed before the General Body and approved. In view of the profit recorded by the Society during the financial year, the General Body approved the payment of a 14% dividend to members. The meeting also approved the appropriation of the net profit for 2025–26, the estimated income and expenditure for 2026–27, the budget, expenditure exceeding the budget provision, the appointment of auditors, and the proposed action plan for the coming financial year. Meritorious Students and Achievers Felicitated A special feature of the Annual General Meeting was the felicitation of meritorious students from among the children of Society members. Students who excelled in academics and sports were honoured in recognition of their achievements and as an encouragement for their future endeavours. Medical assistance was also extended to deserving beneficiaries. Award-winning teachers were felicitated during the programme in recognition of their contribution to the field of education. The General Body also discussed matters relating to the future development of the Society, the welfare of its members and the proposed activities for the coming year. The members acknowledged that their continued cooperation and active participation have contributed significantly to the growth and progress of the Society. Society President Mr. Jossy Sequeira, Vice-President Mr. Robert Lancy Pais, Directors, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Francis and members in large numbers were present at the meeting. Director Mr. Romans Basil Lobo compered the programme. The meeting concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a community lunch for the members.
